49 mi, 2,271 ft, Up Sullivan, Down Canyonback - Ride Leader : Bob Kellogg

To avoid the mud in Kenneth Hahn, we'll stick to the exposed fire roads in the Santa Monica Mountains.  We start from Manhattan Pier at 8:30 with a leisurely ride up the coast to Santa Monica.  As the title says, we'll ride up Sullivan Ridge Fire Road, then down Canyonback Fire Road.  With the exception of a couple of optional detours on Canyonback, the trails are all wide fire roads but there are some sustained hills.  Intermediate or strong beginners on a gravel or mountain bike will be fine.  You can cut out some road miles by starting in Santa Monica.  Please coordinate with the ride leader if you plan to start somewhere other than MB Pier.
